A Conversation with Dana Tai Soon Burgess

Dana will discuss how his experience as a fourth-generation Korean American shapes his creative work, his commitment to telling Asian American and Pacific Islander stories through dance, his memoir Chino and the Dance of the Butterfly, and his arts podcast, Slant Podcast. The program offers an engaging look into the artistic process and the ways culture, identity, and personal experience inform creative expression.

The event also includes performances of select repertory excerpts by dancers from the acclaimed Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company (DTSBDC), DC's leading modern dance company. Following the program, Dana will sign copies of his memoir, which will be available for purchase.
