Join us for a Lunch & Learn* program with Village member Arlene Lutenegger. Arlene will give her presentation titled Finding an Assisted Living Facility.
Go on a journey with this caregiver as she describes her experiences searching for an assisted living facility for her husband 6 years ago. During this presentation, you will learn the terms used, how to evaluate one facility from another, how to get help and support if you have issues, and how to pay for the cost of care. The purpose of this program is to help make the process of finding care for your loved one smoother and more efficient for you.
Arlene Lutenegger is a former Licensed Psychologist in Minnesota where she lived until 2011. She provided therapy services for a diverse caseload of clients, especially those diagnosed with cancer and chronic progressive diseases, and their families, and offering grief support services after a death. However, her greatest achievement and challenge was serving as her husband's carepartner for 28 years while he lived with Parkinson's Disease. Much of what she will share with you is information that she wishes she had when it came time to place her husband in an assisted living facility.
*Attendees should plan to bring their own lunches. Coffee and dessert will be served.
