November is National Family Caregivers Month. Join us for a screening of the PBS documentary, Caregiving. It’s the story of paid and unpaid caregivers navigating the challenges and joys of this deeply meaningful work. Intertwining intimate personal stories with the untold history of caregiving, the documentary reveals the state and the stakes of care in America today. An expert panel will talk about challenges and opportunities for improving the experience of people needing care and their carers including by accessing available resources and advancing  potential policy solutions followed by audience discussion.

Panelists include Frank Finamore, Executive Director, Cleveland and Woodley Park Village, who will speak about his experience as a caregiver; Angela Fields, LICSW, DC Caregivers Institute Director, will share resources for family caregivers; Marisela Bolanos, MSW, CDP, CMDCP, Support Group Program Manager, Johns Hopkins Medicine/Sibley Memorial Hospital Senior Department will speak about the hospital's resources; and Dr. Oye Owolewa, PharmD, and US Shadow Representative for DC will speak about medication management, resources, and public policy. The panel discussion will be moderated by Arlene Bierman, M.D. with a specialty in gerontology.
